Today I managed to play Full Throttle, an old LucasArts adventure I played for the first time many years ago. I tried to play it a lot of times, but there was always something: the audio was missing, the game was crashing every minute… the sort of things that won’t make you enjoy a game. Today I discovered that scummVM, a virtual machine aimed to run old adventure games like Monkey Island, works on linux too: I knew scummVM before, but I always used it under Win, with all the problems I stated above. On linux the game runned smoothly and without problems (except for a little graphic bug near the ending) and it was good to be able to play again such a great piece of software.
The happiness for these renewed old memories didn’t last long, though: I am (metaphorically) banging my head against the wall, because I’m as stupid as a rock sometimes and it seems I can’t do a darn thing about it.
