Model Identification and Data Analysis. *shivers*

Max Payne 2 is a great game! It’s short, that’s true: not more than 10 hours of gameplay I’d say. But this game is almost a movie, it has got a complex and fascinating story, plot twists, love, hate, betrayal and vengeance. Maybe MP is the new form of the old graphic adventures, in this time of brainless FPS. I’ll have to play it again to follow the story once more, and maybe find some hidden hints, and understand it better… this is something you usually do with a book or a movie, not with a game. Think about it ;)
On a side note, my review for the new Dream Theater’s album Train of Thought is online.

Sometimes it’s nearly impossible to sit down and study… you start roaming aimlessy in your house, try to study a little, check your mail and some websites, try harder to study, watch some TV… until finally you give up and start programming a little php script for your website ;)
This script, as you may have noticed, is a MoodMeter, an idea which lingered in my head for some time now. Honestly I didn’t know someone else had thought about it already, but when I found out I decided I HAD to code my script.
And that’s what I did ;)
Quick note: don’t take it too seriously, I tend to be a little melodramatic sometimes… :P

I’ll add a review of Dream Theater’s Train of Thought as soon as I have some spare time.
Some of the comments I found on the message boards about this album point out strange similarities with other well known (sort of ;)) songs. I prepared some mp3s to see if it’s true. Here they are:
crossfade_noose.mp3 The starting guitar riff from “This Dying Soul” seems very similar to the riff from Ark’s “Noose”.
crossfade_healthewaters.mp3 The initial drum section from “Honor Thy Father” somewhat resembles Ark’s “Heal the Waters”.
crossfade_jackson.mp3 “Endless Sacrifice” and “Give in to Me” by Micheal Jackson.
crossfade_elio.mp3 I’ll bet no one noticed this one… The shifted snare drum from “Honor Thy Father” is similar to “Lo Stato A, Lo Stato B” by Elio e le Storie Tese (BTW, that song is played by Vinnie Colaiuta…)

I’d like to talk a little about Kill Bill but I’m busy at this moment… You know, university, exams, always the same old stuff… And I can see the TOEFL coming this way too. It seems I’m going to spend some pleasant weeks from now on… blarg :\
