Sunday, June 6th, 2004Spring Cleaning! My Athlon doesn’t like it when it’s hot, and to make sure I notice it sometimes reboots withouth a fair warning… Or perhaps the culprit is the video card, I really don’t know. To avoid this annoying problem, today I opened the case of my pc and started cleaning it. You can’t even imagine how much dust a case can contain… It soon became clear that a bold action was required, so I slained my pc taking away the Hard Disks, the Floppy Drive, the video and audio card and the CPU fan. Then I started removing the dust with a brush. I couldn’t take away the CPU heat sink from the motherboard (sometimes building a pc is an irreversible process, you know :P) so I had to blow air on it to clean it. Kids, don’t try this at home (unless you want to simulate a dust storm right on your face). It was hard but now I hope my pc can survive the summer without bursting into flames or something… ;P
BTW, this is the first day of summer for a lot of students, given the fact that yesterday was the last day of school for most of them. Of course this doesn’t mean the first day of summer for me: the next month will actually be the worst of the whole year, because of the exams and the hot weather and lots of things which I won’t discuss now… I hope I can at least have my two weeks of vacation…
